Lesson Task – Playing With Ideas

If the idea is at the heart of everything, then I would like you to think of a movie that you love. Then look at its current title sequence and come up with a new one. 

Sketch up the rough idea in the form of a storyboard. Your storyboard needs to be at 30 frames and should be for at least 1 minute of motion design.

So I have not taken a movie, but a TV series that I love and have watched all seasons of. The series is called “Game of Thrones” and I think many people are familiar with that series. I like very much how the stories developes, where you never know who is going to die and what alliances being created. It’s a war between kingdoms where every kingdom wants to rule the world sitting on the powerful “Iron Throne”. The Iron throne is put together by swords, and here is where I found my inspiration for the alternative sequence. I really love the original sequence where the kingdoms are rising up on a map, but my alternative shows swords floating through the screen, as well as elements from the series, like fire, dragontales, cross and magic tree, and at the end the swords are connected and creates the iron throne.
